There are many times when God spoke directly to men and it was recorded in the Bible. The Bible not only records the words of God but it is the Word of God. Because it is the Word of God the Bible has the power of God. Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The Voice of God is so powerful that it accomplishes his will. Isaiah 55:11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.God also speaks through His creation. Romans 1:20: For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Unless it is defiled or seared, He speaks through our conscience. Romans 1:19: Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; |
